Whole home extension and roof integration
In Hallsville, we opened up the rear of the home and rebuilt with a seamless extension that meets the original floor level. A complete new roof pulls every line together, with new verandas, a slate-topped bay window roof, and a patio cover tied back to the main roof. Inside, the layout now centres on a brand-new kitchen with a butler’s pantry and dining area, refreshed bathrooms, and added bedrooms with ensuites. Outside, repaired double hung timber windows, new render, and an exposed concrete veranda and stairs lift the whole street presence.

Full Project Scope
This project began by removing the entire rear of the dwelling so the layout could be rethought from the ground up. We built a rear extension with a raised floor to meet the original level, which keeps circulation smooth and the finish consistent from old to new.
The roof was completely renewed. We restructured rafters, installed new insulation and battens, and fitted new timber fascia, metal guttering, and gutter guard. All roof lines were tied into a single, clean profile and we pitched new roofing over the addition. Verandas were added, a patio roof was extended over the existing deck and tied back into the main roof, and the bay windows received a purpose built roof finished in slate to respect the home’s character.
Windows and exterior received careful attention. We replaced and repaired double hung timber windows, then applied new render to refresh the façade. At the rear, an exposed concrete veranda and matching stairs provide durable outdoor living that is easy to maintain.
Inside, structural walls around the kitchen were removed to create an open plan layout with a functional butler’s pantry and a dining area that links neatly to outdoor spaces. The main bedroom and bedroom two were extended, each with a new ensuite, and bedroom three now has its own ensuite as well. Bathrooms were rebuilt from scratch for modern performance. To round it out, we rebuilt and extended the garage with a workshop, tied it into the existing granny flat, and continued the new roofing across for a unified finish.
The result is a cohesive family home with better light, better flow, and long term durability. It looks like it was always meant to be this way, and it works beautifully day to day.
